Ask Lexie about gaining breadth in your career, working in FMCG and learning on the job.

Lexie has worked in FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) since graduating from the University of Leicester in 2013 with a BA in Criminology. Lexie was working in Sales after graduating from University and found that this was an area that she could build a career in, despite it not being what she thought was on the cards for her when choosing her degree.

Lexie started her career at Mars Wrigley Confectionery as a Field Sales Representative, before moving into Head Office in a Field Sales Operations role. This move allowed Lexie to grow her knowledge and experience of strategy, execution and data analysis as well as her overall FMCG knowledge. Lexie moved to Suntory in 2018, where she started as a Field Planning Manager, responsible for the capability, efficiency and effectiveness of the internal and external field sales teams, whilst managing the operational support aspects of the retail field sales operation. Lexie then went on to include the management of 2 direct reports in her role as a way to develop her people management skills, something that has always been a passion point for her.

In Lexie’s current role as a Project Manager, she has managed cross-functional teams to land compliance projects and audits, and is currently working on projects relating to Suntory’s sustainability. In Lexie’s role as a project manager she manages the project timeline, risk register and budget, leads the cross-functional team meetings to ensure projects are on track and clear actions/tasks are defined and followed through to completion, and tracks, monitors and regularly communicates project status to relevant stakeholders.

Lexie is passionate about self-development and on the job learning, as well as Diversity, Equality & Inclusion and helped shape the Suntory globally aligned DEI Vision & Strategic Pillars that launched in 2021.

When she’s not working, Lexie enjoys cooking, running, travelling and live music, and has a keen interest in the Craft Beer industry, as well as spending time with her rescue cat, Mr. Fish (she did not name him)!
