Tom joined ECB as CEO in January 2015 and brings over 20 years of experience across the world of sports after a career as a professional cricketer.

Renowned as a progressive, values-led leader, Tom believes team sport can be an enormous force for good in any community and is passionate about sport’s role in developing the leaders of the future.

Tom is driving transformational, positive change through commercial excellence and a drive to see a more diverse and inclusive sport at all levels of the game. Along the way, England have become both the Men’s and Women’s Cricket World Champions, both events providing watershed moments for the sport in the UK. Tom led the creation of ‘Inspiring Generations’, ECB’s strategy for 2020-24, which sets out a bold plan for growth and inclusion across the country into younger and more diverse communities.

Tom brings real expertise in sports media rights, and prior to joining ECB was a senior figure at IMG Media, where he ran the company’s media rights business in the UK and previously managed IMG’s business in South Asia.

Outside his role as CEO of the ECB, Tom is a Board Member of Sports United Against Dementia and sits on the National Citizens Service (NCS) Board of Patrons.
