Apprentice Nation is made possible by brands such as BT, who believe in the importance of creating opportunity and investing in young talent. We are looking for a new Kickstart member of the Apprentice Nation team to become an expert in how Apprentice Nation can find and build exciting new partnerships alongside existing partners, and generate new business to reach and impact more young people across the UK.

You will spend most of your time researching online, and you may spend a portion of time speaking with or interviewing people working in different organisations. Your research will inform work across the Apprentice Nation team, such as Partnerships, PR and Business.

Some questions that you might be answering are: Which brands are engaging with UK youth in interesting ways and how? What brands are young people in the UK looking to for inspiration? Which brands would benefit from youth engagement? If these questions get your mind ticking, we want to hear from you!

Role requirements:

Essential:

  • Confident in online/desktop research, with proven experience using this method to respond to research questions;
  • Confident in Microsoft Office. PowerPoint skills are particularly important;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent grammar and high attention to detail;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills;
  • Confident working both independently and collaboratively in a team.


Desirable:

  • Ability to identify and track data;
  • Experience engaging with external stakeholders;
  • Previous engagement with Apprentice Nation as a participant;
  • NCS Graduate.

Content Creator

We are looking for a new Kickstart member of the Apprentice Nation team to create original and engaging content for Apprentice Nation social channels, such as TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

As Content Creator, you will work with all areas of the Apprentice Nation team and platform (e.g. Marketing, Mentor Sessions, Skills Hub content, Rewards, etc.) to reach thousands of 16-25 year olds across the UK with the opportunities on offer at Apprentice Nation.

You will work with the Marketing team to come up with creative ideas and see them through to delivery, to promote Apprentice Nation in line with the Marketing strategy. This will include promotion for our Autumn 2021 season of live events and a new release of on-demand content, involving a new line-up of music artists.

You will bring both your creative imagination and close attention to detail, to create new and original content while ensuring consistency across brand visuals and tone of voice. If you want to bring inspiring, career-shaping content to youth across the UK, we want to hear from you!

Role requirements:

Essential:

  • Creative with the ability to generate new ideas;
  • Authentic understanding of youth social trends;
  • Proven experience creating static visual content on platforms such as Canva, for social media;
  • Proven experience creating reels and video content for TikTok and Instagram;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creative copywriting, good proofreading skills, excellent grammar and high attention to detail;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills;
  • Confident working both independently and collaboratively in a team

Desirable:

  • Previous engagement with Apprentice Nation as a participant;
  • NCS graduate.

Both 6-month placements will run approximately July to December 2021. Monday – Friday, 25 hrs per week. Your weekly schedule will be agreed upon placement. Salary: National Minimum Wage for your age group.

Alongside support from the Catch22 community, you’ll have a dedicated line manager to develop your skills, the opportunity to join team training meetings, access to two Mentor Sessions with Apprentice Nation Mentors, and a reference on completion.

4. Please be aware that in order to be eligible for a Kickstart role, you must be aged between 16-24 and be in receipt of Universal Credit.

Universal Credit: Key facts

1. What is Universal Credit?

Universal Credit is a payment to help with your living costs. It’s paid monthly – or twice a month for some people in Scotland.

2. Check your eligibility

You may be able to get Universal Credit if:

  • you’re on a low income or out of work
  • you’re 18 or over (there are some exceptions if you’re 16 to 17)
  • you and your partner have £16,000 or less in savings between you
  • you live in the UK

3. What will you get?

The standard allowance for under 25 year olds is £344 per month.

You may be eligible for further payment dependent on your situation.

4. Support for your claim and Kickstart

It can be difficult to navigate benefits, there are plenty of support lines to help you through the process.

Help to Claim can support you in the early stages of your Universal Credit claim, from the online application, through to support with your application before your first full payment.

Once you’re receiving Universal Credit you’ll receive regular support from your local Job Center to help you get into employment.
