London Fashion Week is on from 14 – 18 February, showcasing over 250 designers to numerous influencers from media to retail. That makes it the perfect time to follow your passion for fashion with a fashion apprenticeship. We’ve pulled together two academy’s which you can find fashion apprenticeships at; Fashion Retail Academy and Fashion Technology Academy.

Fashion Apprenticeships at the Fashion Retail Academy

A great place to find the perfect fashion apprenticeship for you is the Fashion Retail Academy. They have been delivering courses for over ten years to 5,000 students. They also focus on programmes relevant to Retail with Level 2, level 3 and level 4 apprenticeships in Buying, Merchandising, Retail, Customer Service and Digital Marketing. To apply, you’ll have to take an initial assessment where they will evaluate your skills and match you with the most appropriate programme of training. This training will be based on your current position, meeting your individual needs. Each apprentice will get a work-based assessor who will drop in and assess how well you’re getting along with the course. You’re also going to be guided with a personal learning plan and regular interviews to track and review your progress.

To get onto this apprenticeship, you’ll need at least 2 GCSEs (including English and Maths at grade C +).Alternatively, an appropriate NVQ L3 or advanced BTEC diploma at merit or equivalent with functional skills level 2 in Maths and English can be used. Relevant work experience may also be considered to enter the level 3 course. The higher programme at level 4 will need slightly higher qualifications: at least 4 GCSEs / an NVQ L3 or advanced BTEC diploma at merit or equivalent with functional skills level 2 in Maths and English.

Fashion Apprenticeships at the Fashion Technology Academy

The fashion technology academy currently offers a Fashion and Textiles Apprenticeship programme, which combines training and career-specific work experience. The courses available include retail apprenticeships, management apprenticeships, L2 sewing apprenticeships and more. You’ll get the hands-on experience needed to pursue a successful career in an ever-changing retail sector. Fashion Technology Academy Academy works very closely with different heavyweight employers in the Fashion industry, such as New Look, ASOS and Marks & Spencer. 85% of the apprentices who qualify with Fashion Technology Academy stay in employment with 64% staying with their current employer.
