Give: Get Given
RockCorps and phenomenal talent
RockCorps’ partnered with some of the best talents on the planet:
Rihanna, Pharrell, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, Kanye Drake, will.i.am, Nas, Ellie Goulding, Wiz Khalifa, Mark Ronson, Puff Daddy, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, Ne-Yo, David Guetta, Tinie Tempah, A$AP, Rocky Ciara, Busta Rhymes, Empire of the Sun, The Script, AKON, Primal Scream, Rudimental… the list continues!

And it works – once introduced to volunteering, over 40% of our participants volunteer again – without a reward.
“What makes this organisation so special is that it makes volunteering fashionable” Lady GaGa.
Over 3,000 Volunteer Projects delivered across 6 continents
Projects include transforming a community centre in North London – turning junk storage rooms into classrooms and a waste area into a special children’s garden.
Clearing green spaces in Brooklyn, New York, where RockCorps volunteers used more than 40 gallons of paint to freshen up handball courts, fences, benches and pillars.
And in Fukushima Japan, after the earthquake and tsunami on 11 March 2011, RockCorps volunteers helped clean up and reclaim Soma beach for the local community of the Tohoku province.
In total 180,000 young people – around the world – have experienced the power of volunteering with RockCorps.
“RockCorps is the coolest thing you can ever do in your life; come back next year and do it again” Pharrell.
Now is the time for apprenticeships
In the UK, we’re kicking off something a little bit different: Apprentice Nation.
Apprentice Nation uses the awesome power of music to shine a light on some of the best apprenticeship opportunities out there. And there are loads.
The first gig is in May with 6LACK and to get there you have to sign up to an Action Day and give half a day of your time to meet the people and businesses that offer some of the best apprentice programmes out there. And once they’ve shared all of their nuggets of apprenticeship knowledge – and answered any questions – we celebrate together at an awesome gig with 6LACK. And there are more artists to be announced.
All too often, when people make big decisions about the direction of their careers, they haven’t got all of the facts about all of the options.
Whether you’re thinking about uni or college or embarking on your first job – in whatever field – the apprenticeship route might be the pathway that can get you ahead faster, better, smarter. And if you don’t know about them, you can’t make a fully informed decision.
